Terms of use

These terms govern your access to the Ordellan website, sample alerts, and early-access services.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using Ordellan, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or services.

2. The service

Ordellan identifies and organizes contractor licensing information from public sources, including records published by the California Contractors State License Board. Features, coverage, delivery methods, and availability may change as the service develops.

3. Public records and verification

Public records can be incomplete, delayed, corrected, or changed without notice. Ordellan does not guarantee that any record, status, classification, contact detail, or opportunity is complete, current, or accurate. You are responsible for opening the linked official source and independently verifying information before relying on it or contacting anyone.

4. Acceptable use

You may use Ordellan only for lawful business purposes. You may not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, resell or systematically redistribute its content without permission, or use information in a way that violates privacy, communications, insurance, marketing, or other applicable laws and regulations.

5. Outreach and compliance

You are solely responsible for your outreach, licensing, communications, and compliance decisions. Ordellan does not authorize contact with any person or business and does not provide legal, insurance, or compliance advice.

6. Intellectual property

Ordellan’s website design, branding, software, organization, analysis, and original content are owned by Ordellan or its licensors. Public records remain subject to the rights and terms of their respective sources. These terms do not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.

7. Third-party services and links

The service may link to government websites or rely on third-party hosting, form, and email providers. Ordellan does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, content, availability, security, or privacy practices.

8. Disclaimers

Ordellan is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ordellan disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Ordellan is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by CSLB.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ordellan will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost business, lost data, or decisions made in reliance on the service. Ordellan’s total liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid Ordellan during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.

10. Changes and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service and may update these terms. The effective date above will reflect material updates. Continued use after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be brought in a court with appropriate jurisdiction in California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
